A reputable school of advanced musical training located in Lagos requires candidates for immediate employment.
 

JOB TITLE:  Teacher of Lower Strings (‘Cello and Double Bass)

LOCATION: Lagos
 

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

1. Teach advanced  ‘cello and  double  bass students to grade 8 level in private  lessons, and  prepare them for solo concert performances,
 

2. Teach ‘cello and double bass beginner students to grade 2 level,
 

3. Train lower strings (‘cello and double bass) students in the  school orchestra in cooperation with the  teacher of  upper strings,
 

4. Serve as an examiner for ‘cello and double bass examinations,
 

REQUIREMENTS:
 

1. Candidate must  possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Music (‘Cello performance) or Music Education (majoring in  ‘Cello or Double Bass) from a recognized university. Or
ABRSM or  Trinity practical certificate grade 8 or Diploma in ‘cello or double bass with teaching qualifications,
 

2. At least 5 years ‘cello or double bass teaching  experience in secondary or  preferably post secondary education,
 

3. Working  knowledge of instrumental arranging, a definite advantage,
 

4. Familiarity with ABRSM requirements and standards.

DURATION/REMUNERATION:
 

Initial employment  is  for  6 months  after  which  permanent appointment  may be  considered. The salary is attractive  and  commensurate  with qualifications  and  experience.
