POST TITLE: Senior Transmission Engineer (Ref: TSD/HLE/01/2011)
REPORTING TO: Project Manager and Line Manager of Network Group
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: Nigeria.
DEPARTMENT: Network Product Department
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Ensure project deployment is achieved with the time, cost, and quality targets for Networks Solutions,, as defined by the Project Manager/Line Manager
2. Ensure that project delivery on Network Solutions are above defined KPI’s
3. Manage the implementation of Microwave Network project for clients
4. Escalate any issues that may affect the delivery of Network Solutions
5. Projects to the Project Manager / line Manager “
6. Supervise and report sub-contractors’ performance on Microwave Network project delivery and quality of deployment
7. Drive and ensure the timely completion of projects assigned for implementation
8. Link commissioning and acceptance tests of Microwave equipment
9. Identify and recommend appropriate tools and resources for monitoring and reporting solution performance
10. Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports on Microwave network
11. Project performance to identified stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Candidates must possess Bachelors or higher degree in Engineering, Communications or other -related disciplines
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in a delivery driven communications network environment, especially in Microwave transmission technology scopes
3. Operations or planning background in Telecommunications with future focus and rapidly changing technology environment
4. Knowledge and -hands-on experience on-internet Protocol, transmission infrastructure (Microwave) and Communications service delivery,
5. Experienced in Nokia Siemens Erisson, Alcate-lucent, Harris stratex and NEC Microwave Radios will be of higher priority.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:
1. Experience in a Telecom Engineering Company, telecoms Vendor or ICT is preferred and is of top-priority
2. Bachelor degree in Electrical, Computer Science or telecommunications Engineering or relevant Degree as applicable
3. Good Customer service orientation, communication skills, good team spirit and has ability to work independently
4. Should be ready to work under pressure in all kind of working condition.
5. Proficient in Microsoft office (word, excel and PowerPoint)
6. Applicants should be open to learning new skills and technology
7. Self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic and fluent in English both oral and written.
8. Must be ready for international project to the other African Countries.
9. Successful applicants should be Goal-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills, and be a very good team player
10. The successful applicant should be good at information gathering and analysis
JOB CONDITION:
General HUAWEI working conditions. Additional working time is usually required on a need basis. Minimum qualification is 2.2 or equivalent.
