POST TITLE: Chief Operating Officer (Oil and Gas Upstream) (Ref: EX-03)
This role provide leadership and strategic management of business operations to achieve set P and L, objectives. The overall focus is to grow the customer base, market share profit margins and ensure operational effectiveness while, driving the implementation of policies and standard that align with the Group’s vision and business philosophy
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops and aligns company business objectives with the vision and long-term strategies of the Group
- Communicates the Group’s vision and long-term business strategy and ensures that the company operates in line with Group’s governance policies standards and values
- Ensures effective implementation of the company’s business strategies, growth plans and budgets in support of the Group’s long-term business direction
- Puts adequate operational systems and controls in place to ensure proper monitoring of the company’s performance against plans and budgets
- Ensures that company operations and performance culture comply with approved financial, business and risk management objectives as well as applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

POST TITLE: Group Head Quality Risk Management (Ref: M – 011)
The focus of this role is ensure minimal exposure to and proper management of Business risks in all aspects of the Group’s Business operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops strategies and action plans to minimize and/or eliminate identified or potential risks to the Group’s business and growth plans Define policies and procedure for governing enterprise risk management, monitoring various departments operations to ensure compliance defining the escalation procedures to be followed in the management of any risk across the business
- Promotes enterprise risk management competence throughout the Group, including facilitating development of technical enterprise risk management expertise and helping managers align risk responses with the Group’s risk tolerance framework guided by appropriate controls
- Provides guidance to heads of business units/functions and management with other business planning and management activities
- Reviews internal (infrastructure, personnel, processes, technology) and external (economic, natural, political, competition) factors in the operating environment to ascertain potential and growth plans.
- Conducts periodic risk assessment across the Group’s value chain to determine its efficiency and impact on achievement of business objectives and determines improvement solutions
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
The ideal person for this role must have a keen awareness of the business drivers and risk/control factors in a complex and multi-dimensional business environment. Strong working knowledge of all business processes with focus on making significant improvements in business policy, process and controls to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce risks to business survival.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- First degree in Engineering, business administration, accountancy, economics, finance or related discipline. An MBA degree from a reputable university would be an added advantage.
- Relevant professional qualifications in Risk management e.g. Certified Risk Manager
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in a structured business environment, out which 4 years must be in a management role.
POST TITLE: Group Head Security (Ref: M – 012)
The position is responsible for the provision of security advice and guidance as well as developing and enforcing security policies aimed at ensuring the physical security and safety of employees, facilities and assets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops and establishes policies, procedures, processes and standards to ensure the ongoing maintenance of security,
- Works with other executives to prioritize security initiatives and spending, based on appropriate risk assessments,
- Oversees the activities of security officers and outsourced security personnel in all the Groups offices and facilities,
- Oversees response to security violations, investigation of security breaches, and disciplinary matters associated with such breaches as necessary,
- Liaises with the Administration department for the procurement of security surveillance.
- Builds and manage relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and other related government authorities,
- Works with external security agencies as appropriate for independent security audits.
- Submits weekly security reports to the Vice-Chairman.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
The right person for this role must be a self-starter with good influencing, crime investigation and security management skills, ability to lead and command respect, good nose for details and a strong sense of security awareness.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- First degree in any discipline,
- Relevant qualification in security management e.g. Certified Protection Professional
- 10 years leadership agency (i.e. Military, Policy or Security Services) or in the security unit of a reputable organization.
POST TITLE: Group Head, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) (Ref: M – 013)
The focus of this role is on monitoring and promote health, safe and good practice working environment to ensure minimal risks employees, contractors, customers and the immediate wider/host community.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops, advises, monitors and implements policies, strategies and programmes for ‘Excellence in USE’ in all Group operational activities,
- Activities facilitates and ensures the application of internationally recognized quality management standards in all of the Group’s business processes and procedures,
- Develops and ensures common and consistent investigation and reporting Procedures across the Group’s operations (e.g. Accident/incident Reporting, Permit to Work, Environmental Conformance, etc.),
- Provides HSE expertise and support for specific operational activities,
- Keeps abreast of current and pending national legislation, international trends and specific issues concerning HSE within the oil and gas and related industries,
- Advises and guides Group Executive Leadership in their relations with relevant industrial bodies, government ministries and departments and NGO’s on HSE issues,
- Ensures that business managers are informed of all their HSE responsibilities under the law, Group policies and Shareholder and other stakeholder expectations,
- Ensures the development and maintenance of QM-systems for all of the Group’s business processes
- Co-ordinates HSE operations to assure that the Group has high standards, awareness and compliance with approved HSE policies,
- Coordinates Independent HSE Audit Program and annual HSE target setting exercises.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- The ideal -person. must good grasp of business drivers and strong hands-on knowledge of: HSE Governance and Assurance Processes, HSE Policies and Standards, HSE Management Systems, HSE Performance and Information, Risk Assessment and Contingencies as well as change management capability.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A University Degree Engineering, sciences or other relevant disciplines,
- 12 – 15 years post graduation experience with 5 years experience in Crisis management, HSE Policies and Practices, legislation and regulatory requirements and standards in a reputable organization preferably in the Oil and Gas or industry.
POST TITLE: Group Finance Manager (HSE) (Ref: M – 014)
This role is responsible for consolidating and preparing finance and decision support reports for the Group executive management. The position analyses the Groups financial transactions, recommends strategies for managing operational costs and maximizing profits.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops the Group’s annual plans, budgets and financial performance metrics to guide business operations and strategy execution
- Develops, updates and guides the implementation of finance SOPs across the Group
- Designs and guides the implementation of Group standards and compliance with tax and other financial regulatory provisions
- Assists in the development and maintenance of sound financial controls across the Group’s operations
- Oversees proper capturing of financial transactions and consolidates the Group’s accounting records
- Prepares comprehensive, proactive and timely financial and management information, including tax, cash flow and statutory accounts for the group
- Maintains on-going Liaison with relevant external bodies / contacts e.g. regulatory organizations, auditors, solicitors, banks etc
- Provides financial advice on the Group’s short, medium and long term cash/ funding/ risk situation to management.
- Prepare cash flow forecast statements based on agreed revenue targets and planned/approved expenditure plans for the Group
- Participates at regular meetings with executive management, on behalf of the CFO to discuss the Group’s financial position.
- Prepares Letters of Credit for approval and forwards to the bank to facilitate the importation of products.
- Oversees the computation and remittance of taxes, payment of insurance premiums and other statutory fees.
- Reviews weekly reports submitted by various units/departments and presents timely reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Good at working under time pressure and able to diagnose and solve complex financial problems, the person must be competent in the use of ERP-type financial applications and computers to enhance work performance, self-motivated, diligent, and enthusiastic with a strong business orientation. The person must demonstrate strong analytical skills, leadership and the ability to communicate effectively.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- First degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics with a professional certificate – ACA, ACCA
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience work of which 5 years must have been at
- Management level.
- A postgraduate degree will be an added. Advantage.
POST TITLE: Head Depot Operations (Ref: M – 015)
The role is primarily responsible for the overall management of the Group’s Depots focusing on ensuring product availability, quality control, efficient loading operations, security of stock and tank farm/ Depot maintenance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Initiates and coordinates the implementation of approved supply chain policies, strategies and plans to ensure cost effective availability of products across key markets,
- Liaises with Commercial department and executive management to develop strategies for efficient and profitable operations in the Depot,
- Communicates strategies, business plans and to all stakeholders in the Depot and full compliance.
- Manages staff in the Depot and monitors all activities to ensure full compliance with established procedures,
- Takes delivery of stock from the ship,
- Co-ordinates offloading operations into the tank-farms, dipping operations by the cargo surveyors, and regular stock taking exercise to keep stock of volume of products in storage,
- Liaises with HR and Finance to ensure prompt payment of Depot (including contact) staff.
- Liaises with Ports Operations to process and obtain relevant documents to fulfill regulatory requirements for port transactions,
- Interfaces with stakeholders in the community to manage relations and avert any attack on incoming vessels,
- Makes arrangements for fire-fighting equipment, trucks and security personnel to be on-ground when products are being off loaded to the tanked,
- Performs regular inspections to ensure the safety and security of all facilities and products in the Depot
- Interfaces with regulatory authorities to deliver and receive relevant document and meet regulatory requirements,
- Works with HSE officers to ensure that safety regulations are that all Depot employees use their protective clothing and equipment,
- Reviews daily and weekly reports from Head Operations, Head -Depot Maintenance, HSE officers and Gantry supervisor,
- Prepare daily/weekly transaction and operations reports for executive management.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Strong planning, organizational and supply chain/inventory management skills, good working knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations, ability to handle complex negotiations: good logistics and project management experience.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- First degree in Engineering or Business Administration, Possession of a Master’s degree is an advantage,
- Membership of relevant bodies in Logistics/Supply chain management e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply,
- 10 years relevant working experience, with at least 5 in a supervisory role in depot/tank farm management and logistics in an oil and gas or industrial environment.
POST TITLE: Regional Depot Operations Manager (Ref: M 016)
LOCATIONS: (West. North, East, South)
This position is responsible for strengthening the Group’s supply chain network in designated/ earmarked geographies by ensuring product availability, quality control, efficient loading operations, security of stock and tank farm/ Depot maintenance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Implements the Group’s supply chain policies and strategies in the designated area/region
- Plans and controls depot operations activities within the region/area,
- Liaises with Ports Operations in the region to process and obtain relevant documents to fulfill regulatory requirements for port transactions,
- Supervises offloading operations into the tank-farms, dipping operations by the cargo surveyors, and regular stock taking exercise to keep stock of volume of products in storage,
- Liaises with Head office (HR and Finance) to prompt payment of Depot (including contract) staff,
- Monitors and reports on product movements and trends within the region/area,
- Liaises with organized product end users to ascertain quality of products delivered to customers,
- Develops and maintains good relationship with key customers; in the region/area,
- Provides support and leadership to regional depot operations staff,
- Facilitates the delivery of products to customers and ensure that customer requests and orders and promptly addressed,
- Prepares reports of business transactions and manages expense accounts,
- Develops and manages relationships with the host communities,
- Prepares daily/weekly transaction and operation reports.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Works well under time pressure and able to plan and organize the regional supply chain/inventory team with minimum support. The person must have very good sound grasps of the Group’s products, ability to negotiate/network with target customers and must have good working knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations on logistics and distribution management.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- First degree in Engineering or Business Administration. Possession of a Masters degree is an advantage,
- Membership of relevant bodies in Logistics/Supply chain management e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply,
- 8 years relevant working experience, with at least 4 in a supervisory role in depot/tank farm management and logistics in an oil and gas or industrial environment.
POST TITLE: Head Customer Care (Ref: M 017)
This role supports and promotes the Group’s focus on strengthening customer relationship and service performance to ensure that customer needs and complains are effectively addressed to enable high level of customer loyalty and satisfaction.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops customer service policies, procedures and standards, as well as service level agreements for all busmen units of the Group,
- Develops and implements customer service and customer care strategies and plans
- Develops and administers customer feedback or complaints procedure forms,
- Coordinates the activities of the Customer Care function and staff in all operational (depot) locations.
- Organizes and coordinates scheduled customer care visits to address customer issues and/ or clarify on issue resolutions initiatives and plans,
- Acts to ensure that communication and Service Level Agreements between all departments are maintained effectively, so that quality service is delivered to the customer,
- Liaises with all Heads of departments to and discuss and gather customer feedback and possible solutions to improve to customer service standards,
- Works with the Human Resource department to organize programmes to train staff on high level customer service delivery,
- Prepares and presents periodic reports to the group Executive management Team on all customer service issues and implement actions.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- The ideal person for this role must demonstrate excellent customer engagement, listening and persuasive skills and the ability to engage and solve problems under pressure, good interpersonal relationship management and communication capacity. The person must have good planning and organizing ability and be self-motivated and capable of influencing behavior change in a positive way that projects the Group’s interest.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- First Degree in marketing, Business Administration or a social Sciences discipline
- Membership of professional bodies in customer care e.g. Customer Care Institute (an advantage)
- 8 years experience in the customer service function of a similar organisation.
