Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) Jobs in Nigeria: Recruitment for National Coordinator, Program Officer

The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), a coalition of human rights, non-governmental and civil society organizations based in Abuja is seeking highly qualified and experienced Nigerian candidates to fill the positions below:

POST TITLE:   National Coordinator

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under the direct supervision of the coordinating committee of TMG will take the lead in the planning, designing, formulation and fund raising for projects,
  • He/she will also be expected to contribute to policy dialogue and advocacy, partnership development, and knowledge sharing/ learning plus office/ corporate initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Good first degree or equivalent in humanities or social sciences or related field,
  • At least five (5) years of relevant work experience with NGO and coordination of networks, public sector organization or similar organizations.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically and express ideas in a clear and articulate fashion,
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines, independently or in teams.
  • Ability to raise funds,
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment, and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals/ groups of different cultural background and at different levels,
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English,
  • Computer literacy (Windows XP/ Microsoft office).

POST TITLE:   Program Officer

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • As a part of the larger team, successful candidate will in conjunction with the National Coordinator and Accountant will plan and manage programs, initiate and write concepts, proposals, press briefings/ statements on the state of the nation, official letters and documentations,
  • Assist in the identification of needs, conduct research, develop proposals and generally assist in managing projects and programs as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience with NGO or similar organizations.
  • A good degree or equivalent in humanities, social sciences or related field,
  • Evidence of media background and completion of National Youth Services.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically, and express ideas in a dear and articulate fashion,
  • Computer and communication skills very necessary.
DURATION OF POSITIONS:

This job is renewable after probation subject to satisfactory performance,
