JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

RTI is recruiting a qualified development professional to serve as Chief of Party for a forthcoming USAID Teacher Education program in Nigeria. Based in Abuja, the Chief of Party will:
 

1. Be responsible for overall technical direction and management of the program,
 

2. Provide technical leadership and quality assurance in the design, delivery and evaluation of all technical assistance and capacity building activities,
 

3. Provide direct managerial oversight to all staff and consultants working on this program and for all program operations; and,
 

4. Provide technical assistance to counterparts and clients, as required.

THE CANDIDATES:

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate skills, expertise and experience in the following areas:

1. Senior-level USAID project management experience,
 

2. Teacher professional development,
 

3. Education policy, planning and management,
  

4. Monitoring and evaluation,
 

5. Project financial management and administration.

6. Experience in girls’ education and scholarship programs, early childhood education, and/or ICT in education desired.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Masters and 12 years relevant sector and management experience, including five years overseas experience, as a USAID Chief of Party or senior program manager on large scale education development programs, preferably in the Sub-Saharan region,
 

2. Advanced degree in education, or related field,
 

3. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage and motivate international and local staff and teams,
 

4. Demonstrated skill implementing large-scale teacher training programs,

5. Knowledge of USAID project management policies, procedures and reporting requirements,

6.  Fluency in English,
 

7. Experience in Nigeria is an asset.

POST TITLE: Assistant Vehicle Fleet Manager


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages the ICRC vehicle and generator fleet in Nigeria in accordance with operational needs and in compliance with the required standards,
 
2. Follows closely fuel consumption and use of ICRC vehicles, by providing effective and efficient resource planning, scheduling and reports,
 
3. Manages fleet administrative issues: filling, import, sales, insurance, accidents, etc,
 
4. Ensures that maintenance support is carried out in accordance with guidelines,
 
5. Controls spare parts movements, stocks, orders and inventories,
 
6. Operates ICC fleet management software applications FleetWave and VDO,
 
7. Follows-up all technical issues on vehicles and generators in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano,
 
8. Ensures that security, safely and legal requirements are observed by all ICRC employees in all areas concerning vehicle support,
 
9. Supervises and manages car dispatch, mechanic and drivers.


REQUIREMENTS:

1. University degree in logistics or mechanical engineering, or professional school with similar technical degree.
 
2. Minimum 5 years experience in the field of vehicle management, logistics or workshop manager with international company/organization or embassy.
 
3. Good command of written and spoken English.
 
4. Excellent computer skills.
 
5. Ability to take initiative and deal with people.
 
6. Experience in leading a small team.
 
7. Methodical person with common sense and rigour (good diagnosis and planning capacity)
 
8. Strong sense of responsibility and adaptability.
 
9. Valid driving license.

POST TITLE: Logistics Officer

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Handles logistics files independently (order management, import documents, shipments, transport and warehousing) with a special overview on medical issues,
    2. Negotiates contractual matters with external interlocutors (shipment companies, clearing agents, airport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NAFDAC for medical items and other relevant contracts),
     
    4. Does local purchasing ensuring that it’s carried out in accordance with ICRC standards, is auditable, fully transparent and into the satisfaction of the “client” departments,
     
    5. Monitors the warehouse in Abuja and Port Harcourt including monthly stock inventory for all assistance items including medical (drugs and vaccines) in accordance with ICRC guidelines,
     
    6. Manages and monitors the statistics on a monthly base inclusive reconciliation of statistic reports from the field and possibly also Donor reporting.

      3. Carries out basic repairs in premises and equipment,

      4. Organizes and supervises maintenance of our premises and equipment by sub-contractors,

      5. Follows-up utility bills of our premises,
