VETERINARY COUNCIL OF NIGERIA Recruiting Principal Assistant Registrar, Assistant Registrar,Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.

Further to the earlier advertisements and subsequent interview in which few candidates qualified. The VCN is re-advertising for high fliers from North-West and South-South zones to fill the vacancies below:
Position: Principal Assistant Registrar (Contiss 14)
 
Qualifications: 
  • Possession of a degree in veterinary Medicine from a recognized university.
  • Possession of the current Practicing License of the Veterinary Council of Nigeria
     
  • Possess at least a Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine (or any related field), Fellowshipor Membership Diploma of the College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria (CVSN)
     
  • Possession of at least 15 years post registration cognate experience,
     
  • Possession of demonstrable Computer knowledge,
     
  • Possession of at least 9 years administrative experience in an organization employing not less than twenty (20) people,
     
  • Possession of a Certificate or Post Graduate Diploma in Administration is an added advantage.
     
  • Possession of NYSC discharge certificate or certificate of exemption.

     
    Responsibilities/Job Description:
  • Taking responsibility for statutory inspection of all Veterinary Premises and Institutions to ascertain level of compliance with the extant Council codes;
     
  • Coordinating the activities of the Field Offices,
     
  • Coordinating information on National Veterinary Development,
     
  • Maintaining liaison with Council recognized external productive partners, Institutions and bodies;
     
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of immediate subordinate staff working in the same unit
     
  • Coordinating and providing secretarial services for the regular mandatory professional enhancement training for registered members of the Council
     
  • Assisting in formulation and review of National Veterinary Development Policies and integrating such policies into National Development Plans,
     
  • Organizing and coordinating researches and surveys into various aspects of veterinary development and maintaining liaison, in this regard with similar institutions in the country;
     
  • Serving as secretary to the Professional Standing Committees of Council; and
     
  • Supervising the work of immediate subordinate staff.
     
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Position: Assistant Registrar (Contiss 12)


    Qualifications:

    The applicants to the above post must
     
  • Possess a degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognized University.
     
  • Possess at least a Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine (or any related field), Fellowship or Membership Diploma of the College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria (CVSN).
    Be registered with the Council and have a current Practicing License,
     
  • Possess at least 7 years post graduation cognate experience.
     
  • Possess at least 3 years administrate experience in an organization employing not less than twenty (20) people.
     
  • Must possess demonstrable Computer knowledge,
     
  • Possession of a Certificate or Post Graduate Diploma in Administration is an added advantage
     
  • Possession of NYSC discharge certificate or certificate of exemption.

    Responsibilities/Job Description:
  • The successful candidates shall be in-charge of the dissemination of information on Veterinary Development in the Geo-political zones/States;
     
  • Monitoring and evaluation of Veterinary practices and premises;
     
  • Promoting the program mes of Council in the area of Veterinary Practice development,
     
  • Generating data for the Councils Data Bank at its headquarters; and
     
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of immediate subordinate staff working in the zone;
    Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time,

    Position: Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (Contiss 11)

    Qualifications:
     
  • Possess a degree in the Social Sciences or Humanities.
     
  • Possession of National Youth Service Corp discharge Certificate or Certificate of Exemption
     
  • Possession of Certificate of Attendance of Manpower Budgeting and Staff Inspection, Pension Administration, Management Consulting or Grading Course
     
  • Possession of at least 12 years post graduation cognate experience,
     
  • Possession of a post graduate degree in administration is an added advantage
     
  • Possession of a demonstrable Computer knowledge.

    Responsibilities/Job Description
     
  • Taking responsibility for human resources and general administrative duties
     
  • Assisting in the administration of a branch office (Zonal or State)
     
  • Assisting in the formulation, execution and review of policies
     
  • Assisting in training junior staff
     
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Condition Of Service:

    The posts are pensionable and other conditions will be as prescribed for officers of that grade in the approved scheme of service for the Vertinary Council of Nigeria.
