Applications are hereby invited for suitably qualified candidates for the appointment of Medical Director at Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria. The appointment will be made under extant terms and conditions prevailing in the Civil and Public Service of the Federation.

POST TITLE: Medical Director

THE CANDIDATE: 
 
The successful candidate should posses the followings:

1. Must be a Medical Doctor who is medically qualified.
 
2. Must have a Post-Graduate Qualification in Psychiatry that is duly registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
 
3. Must have been a Consultant in the psychiatry specialty for at least five (5) years.
 
4. Must have a current Registration with the Medical and Dental Registration Council of Nigeria.
 
5. Must be of proven character.
 
6. Must have run or have a proven ability to run a community Mental Health Programme in Nigeria. Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu in partnership with the Methodist Church of Nigeria and the respective Local Governments, runs a Community Psychiatric Programme in all the 17 LGAs of Abia, 14 of the 21 LGAs of Anambra, all the 13 LGAs of Ebonyi and all the 27 LGAs of Imo. It has funds in the 2010 and proposed 2011 budget to extend the programme into the retraining LGAs in Anambra and Enugu states. Thus, the prospective Medical Director is expected to drive, strengthen and sustain this unique initiative.
 
7. Any management experience and/or additional qualification would be an added advantage.
