THE ORGANIZATION:

A major international organization managing a large programme to support the reform and strengthening of the health care system in Nigeria is recruiting qualified professional staff to fill the positions based in and Kaduna. The programme supports the Federal and State Ministries of Health in transforming the health financing, management, and delivery of sustainable health services, and represents a major development initiative that seeks to enhance the long-term impact of investments in the health sector by requiring alignment among projects, country ownership of development policies and strategies, and stronger accountability mechanisms.

  • Will provide leadership in knowledge management and project reporting. S/he will also develop and lead implementation of an integrated communication strategy that promotes project messages to key audiences through diverse media. The job holder will protect and promote the project public image. S/he will develop Annual Corporate Communications Work Plan, manage its implementation and monitor activities against plan and budget. S/he will also lead the development and strategic operations of knowledge and information management. S/he will oversee news, multi-media, e-communications, editorial, publishing, information management and technology functions. Integrate information dissemination, networking and outreach activities into the knowledge sharing effort. In addition, s/he will develop and conduct training on reporting/writing skills for program staff and also work closely with State teams to generate monthly quarterly reports.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:: 

1. in Communications, , or other relevant field. Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in communications and dissemination.

2. Experience in developing materials for a variety of specific audiences and creating wide range products


  • Under the direct supervision of the service Integration Advisor, the job holder will mobilize local and international technical assistance resources to develop, review and update a set of quality standards for the Minimum Ward Services Package. S/he will also support the project’s focal states to ensure the institutionalization of an integrated supervision and quality assurance monitoring of Primary Health care services (particular emphasis on MCH, and Reproductive Health/Family planning services in all focal health facilities. S/he will assist the Service integration Officers in the focal states to establish, train and build the capacity of quality improvement teams at selected LGAs, ensuring effective participation from the community. Work very closely with pre-service and in-service training institutions to review and update service delivery training curricula, work closely with HRH and Training/Capacity building Advisor to produce training curricula, disseminate and use same to train trainers to transfer up-to-date knowledge and skills for all health care providers S/he will provide leadership in performance and service quality improvement in PHC facilities. Collaborate with government, non-government, development partners and other International organizations on technical issues related to quality improvement.
Qualification Requirements:

1. A Medical Doctor is preferable. . or in Family Medicine, , Community Health, or other relevant field is a plus,
 
2. 7-10 years of experience in Primary Health Care and/or Community Health,
 
3. Demonstrated experience with managing primary health care services in developing countries,
 
4. Experience in the Nigerian Public Sector Health Care System is a plus,
 
5. Experience with health care programs funded by international funding agencies,
 
6. Experience with DFID-funded programs is a plus.
