African Civil Aviation Commission Job: Recruitment for Air Transport Expert
The African Civil Aviation Commission wishes suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below at its Headquarters based in Dakar, Senegal.
Position: Air Transport Expert (P/2011/06)
Direct Line Supervisor: Air Transport Officer
Level: P 1
Position Assignment
Participate to AFCAC activities and provide her/his expertise in the field of air transport under the supervision of the Air Transport Director
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in the implantation of the Yamoussoukro decisions in the field of air transport supervision,
2. Participate in the activities for the promotion sustainable development of air transport in Africa,
3. Provide his expertise about the issues of liberalization of air transport in Africa,
4. Facilitate and accelerate integration and freedom of movement of persons and goods in Africa,
5. Participate in the Directorate’s activities aiming at consumer protection,
6. Participate in the establishment of common rules fostering a healthy competition among operators in the sector,
7. Represent AFCAC during national and international meetings dealing with air transport issues carry out other duties assigned by the Air Transport Director.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced University degree, preferably with specialization in public or business administration, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
REQUIRED EXPERTISE & SKILLS:
1. Having worked for at least (10) years in a similar position
2. If possible, having worked for international bodies
3. Knowledge of financial and accounting management software
4. Knowledge of the United Nations accounting system
5. Fluency in one of the working languages of AFCAC
6. Knowledge of more than one of the working languages of AFCAC (including English) is a highly desirable qualification.
PERFORMANCE INDICATIONS:
1. Implementation of the budget,
2. Qualification of the administrative management,
3. Availability and quality of financial information,
4. Level of justification of the commitments,
5. Level of protection of property.

DURATION OF APPOINTMENT:

DUTIES , OBLIGATIONS & PRIVILEGES:
1. AFCAC staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the Secretary General and may be assigned to any activities,
2. AFCAC staff members are expected to a conduct themselves in a manner befitting their status as internal civil servants,
3. The benefits of AFCAC staff members will be those included in the Seat Agreement between AFCAC and Senegal.
CLASSIFICATION OF POSTS & STAFF:
The classification of posts and staff will be similar to those of ICAO and the United Nations system.
REMUNERATION & ALLOWANCES:
The salaries will be those of ICAO and the United Nations System.
