An Indigenous Firm Job: Vacancy for Associate Director
THE ORGANIZATION:
An Indigenous Firm that provides professional services in research, training and consulting seeks to recruit a personnel to head its training department, which provides training services to its stakeholders and clients. The position is 3rd level from the CEO, but reports to the CEO as it is a growing organization.
POST TITLE: Associate Director , Training
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scope of Scope of Role Responsibilities:
Strategy:
1. Actively participate in the process of deriving corporate strategy,
2. Lead functional team to generating operational strategy from corporate strategy,
3. Lead implementation of the department’s operational strategy in line with overall corporate strategy,
4. Prepare departmental and programme budgets.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & PROGRAMME DELIVERY:
1. Implement training related strategic alliance with partner institutions,
2. Design training curriculum based on need assessment of stakeholders,
3. Develop new business and managing existing relationships with service consumers,
4. Facilitate and lead discussion on applicable training programmes.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
1. Provide senior level relationship management support to department staff,
2. Coach and develop staff of the department plan and coordinate the entire activities of the training department,
3. Champion career development and learning for staff of department.
PERFORMANCE & PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
1. Supervise the day to day workload and activities of staff, as well as track staff performance in the department,
2. Provide feedback sessions for staff of the department and identify areas in need of improvement,
3. Ensures effective working relationships between supervisors, co-workers, and customers,
4. Demonstrate project management skills and ensure that projects are delivered according time estimates and budget,
5. Participate on consulting, research or other projects as may be required.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
1. A working knowledge of the financial service sector
2. A post graduate degree in finance or management sciences (or its equivalent)
3. Professional membership of internationally recognized training institute/chartered institute of bankers Nigeria
4. Minimum of 15 years of working experience, 7 of which must have been in the training function of a well-established corporate organization at senior management level.
5. A phD in any of the social sciences will be a an added advantage.
