Nigeria Computer Society NCS Job: Vacancy for Executive Secretary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Executive Secretary.

POST TITLE:   Executive Secretary

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • First Degree in Computer Science or any Information Technology related discipline;
  • Masters Degree in IT related discipline or Master in Business Administration (MBA) will be an advantage;
  • Member of Nigeria Computer Society;
  • Must have the capacity to relate with the IT stakeholders, the industry and the Government;
  • Must have reasonable level of capability for effective financial drive;
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the Information Technology practice industry with at least 5 years at the managerial level.
FUNCTIONS:

1. Running the daily activities of the society in an organized and efficient manner
2. Liaising with members of the press with the approval of the President as and when due
3. Giving adequate support to the President and other members of the Executive in the running of various Committees
4. Preparing for consideration and consent of the President the following key documents:-
5. Developing and periodically reviewing as necessary a detailed organizational structure and operational guidelines with Chairman Audit Committee on the day-to-day running of the Society for discussion and consent of the President prior to consideration for adoption of Council; Developing and implementing a Performance Management System for the Secretariat including training of staff on operational procedures.
6. Developing and implementing strategies for creating awareness of the Society with a view to engendering goodwill and a positive disposition to the Society;
7. Developing strategies broad for encouraging members to participate fully in the activities of the Society.
8. Developing and implementing consistent and on-going strategies for membership drive and continuous active membership.
9. Preparing periodic operational and financial reports to the President for further consideration by Council
10. Developing strategies for collecting members’ un-paid subscriptions
11. Preparing the Annual Budget for the various activities of the Society
12. Ensuring the financial viability of the Secretariat;
13. Maintaining the Register of Members;
14. Keeping minutes of the business meetings of the society and of the Executive Council;
15. Informing members of the time, place and agenda of meetings
 
SALARY/REMUNERATION: Attractive and Negotiable
