An independent power producing company seeks the services of a competent and resourceful candidate to fill the position below:
POST TITLE: Electrical Engineer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design of electrical installations,
- Prepare technical specifications for capital projects,
- Develop project budget and schedule,
- Assist in packaging and solicitation of bids,
- When requested, assist operations and maintenance department in the trouble shooting of unexpected technical problems,
- Write reports, agenda items, and perform engineering analysis,
- Evaluate new technology and products that improve the efficiency of operations and infrastructure,
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned based on the needs of the organization.
THE CANDIDATES:
The prospective applicant must possess knowledge, skills and abilities in the followings:
- Develop clear, complete and accurate engineering specifications, drawings and estimates within established timelines,
- Discuss and identify project problems, analyze situations, recommend solutions and evaluate outcomes,
- Communicate effectively, both written and orally, within the organization and with outside agency representatives at all skill level position levels and backgrounds,
- Interpret, review, and approve design submittals, including descriptions and schematics,
- Make field and site inspections for problem investigation and compliance,
- Solve complex technical problems with innovative,
- Engineering principles, theory, and practices relating to design, specifications, writing and estimating,
- National electric codes, as applied to power distributions,
- Issuing RFQS to suppliers, and evaluating responses from suppliers,
- Experience with diesel and gas reciprocating engine based generators and power generation projects will be a plus.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Engineering) degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, with a minimum of 10 years experience m consultancy services,
- Must be a member of NSE and COREN registered.
