THE ORGANIZATION:

The Population Council is an international, non-profit, non-governmental institution that seeks to improve the well-being and reproductive health of current and future generations around the world and help achieve a humane, equitable and sustainable balance between people and resources. The Council’s major program areas are HIV and AIDS, reproductive health and poverty, gender, and youth. The Council conducts biomedical, social science and public health research and helps build research capacities in developing countries. The Population Council has works in collaboration with a broad range of Nigerian institutions. Due to expansion of its activities, the Council is seeking qualified individuals to fill the positions below:

POSITION:   Program Manager (HIV)

LOCATION: Abuja

THE PERSON: 
  • The successful candidate will provide technical program management assistance to the Project Director and be the project manager in the projects of the Men’s Health Network Nigeria (MHNN), 
  • He/she will undertake project design, implementation and evaluation of progragram/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting,
  • He/she will provide technical guidance on bio-medical aspects of the MHN program.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate must possess the followings:
  • MPH, MBBS,
  • Minimum of 5 years related working experience in health and development programs,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Good IT skills,
  • Ability to travel within and outside Nigeria,
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines,

POST TITLE:   Clinical Services and Quality Assurance Manager

LOCATION: Abuja

THE PERSON:  

The successful candidate will coordinate MHNN service delivery’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program to ensure compliance with national and state protocol requirements; conduct assessments and recommend enhancements to QA/QC policies and protocols; train laboratory and clinical staff on QA/QC standards and reporting requirements; ensure that data integrity requirements are met; prepare and disseminate QA/QC plans and reports and perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

The ideal candidate must possess the followings:
  • MBBS, Masters of Public Health, PhD in a related field is preferred,
  • Excellent Communication, Supervisory and Interpersonal Skills,
  • Language Requirements – English – Excellent,
  • Level of IT Expertise Required – Good,
  • Ability to travel within and outside Nigeria,
  • Desired Number of Years Prior Experience in a Similar Role – 3-5 years.

POST TITLE:   Program Coordinator (BCC and Advocacy)

LOCATION: Abuja

THE PERSON:  

The successful candidate will coordinate the implementation of a communication strategy to effectively influence behaviour change at the individual, community and policy levels

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate must possess the followings:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s in Health Policy, Public Administration, or Public Health is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in public policy, non-profit management, or related field.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required, Ability and willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis
  • High degree of independence, creativity and commitment
  • Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write dearly and succinctly under time ore and to make well organized verbal presentations.

POST TITLE:     Program Officer

LOCATION: (South) – Lagos

THE PERSON:  

The successful candidate will assist in coordinating and managing the Men’s Health Network, Nigeria (MHNN) program and field activities in Southern regions.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate must possess the followings:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s in Health Policy, Public Administration, or Public Health is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in public policy, non-profit management, or related field.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis
  • High degree of independence, creativity and commitment
  • Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure and to make well organized verbal presentations.

POST TITLE:   Program Officer

LOCATION: (North)- Kaduna

THE PERSON:  

The successful candidate will assist in coordinating and managing the Men’s Health Network, Nigeria (MHNN) program and field activities in Northern regions.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

The ideal candidate must possess the followings:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree,
  • Master’s in Health Policy, Public Administration, or Public Health is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in public policy, non-profit management, or related field,
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis
  • High degree of independence, creativity and commitment,
  • Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure and to make well organized verbal presentations.

POST TITLE:   Driver

LOCATION: Lagos

The successful candidate will provide a reliable and courteous transportation service to staff and maintain vehicle documentations support the Men’s Health Network Project and the Lagos office.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate must possess the followings:
  • Completed Secondary School Education,
  • Specialist Training/Qualification – Certificate of driver of driver mechanic trade test
  • General Communication and Interpersonal Skill Level – Excellent,
  • Language Requirements – English- Good,
  • Two years work experience in driving with NGO,
  • Ability to interact in cross-cultural setting with ease.
