Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria Latest Jobs in Nigeria: Recruitment for 6 Job Positions

THE ORGANIZATION:

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria has a 5-year Cooperative Agreement with the United States Government Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) for the purpose of mentoring all tiers of Nigeria’s Public Laboratory System to advance them towards National Accreditation under PEPFAR by Council.
 
MLSCN is therefore recruiting senior-level managers and technical experts to provide services towards driving continuing quality improvement of public health laboratories for national accreditation.
 
POST TITLE:   DIRECTOR, LABORATORY ACCREDITATION
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Director. Laboratory Accreditation shall assist to oversee the national laboratory accreditation program,
  • This individual will have taken a hands-on approach in leading a variety of initiatives,
  • The ideal candidate will have a track record of effectively leading a performance-based and outcome-based program and staff, 
  • He/She will have developed and ope-rationalized strategies that have taken a program or organization to the next stage of growth.

JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
  • PhD in any field of Medical Laboratory Science with minimum of 15 years over all professional experience including laboratory accreditation, assessments, continuing quality improvement processes and full registration with Council.
 
POST TITLE:   DIRECTOR, ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under direction, administers the grant programme to include initiating and managing funding contracts,
  • Technical lead on grants administration for internal matters and assumes representational responsibilities in external grant administration matters,
  • As delegated by the CEO of MLSCN/Principal Investigator of the project, investigates potential grant programs; evaluates the eligibility for projects, coordinates various staff, prepares grant applications and subsequent funding contracts and monitors progress,
  • Also supervises cooperative funding agreements, financial support and employees in the preparation of required financial reports and prepares final reports to close out grants,
  • Maintains all pertinent records, files and documents: assures completeness and accuracy which are consistent with external and Internal audit requirements,
  • Regularly coordinates grant administration matters with internal acquisition, planning, design, operations, staffing and maintains regular and recurring contacts with various external grantors,
  • Performs the full range of supervisory functions i.e. Selection, direction, performance management, leave administration, employee and labour relations, and assures workplace safety.
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
  • Minimum of a BA/B.Sc in Economics, Accountancy, Administration etc ideally with an MBA; Strong operational experience: ideally has worked in a senior management jobs in Nigeria for 10+ years in a socially responsible organization with progressive experience leading to at least three years experience in international operational/administrative management,
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience in health overseeing human resources, information technology and legal issues,

POST TITLE:   LABORATORY TECHNICAL OFFICER
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The LTO will provide technical assistance and support to other technical project staff in the implementation of project activities in the selected laboratories across the six Geo-political zones,
  • Develop and plan implementation strategies for selected activities of the project,
  • Assign activities to other technical project staff,
  • Develop a strategy for maintaining a mutual working relationship with other stakeholders such as the FMOH, CDC etc. Work with the M and E unit on analysis and interpretation of data,
  • Partner with other project staff to develop advocacy packs for the project.
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist with 10 years of cognate experience in related project,
  • Work experience must reflect the knowledge, skill and abilities,
  • Post graduate qualification in monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage,
  • Registration with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria as well as previous experience in laboratory accreditation will be an added advantage.
 
POST TITLE:   ACCOUNTANT
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • General accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledgers, account and bank reconciliations, 
  • Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department,
  • Prepare journal entries, general ledger operations, monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements, reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, draw up monthly financial reports, administer accounts receivable and account payable, prepare staff tax computations and returns, assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, assist with payroll administration, account/bank reconciliations, assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process, assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
  • Candidates should have B.Sc. In Accountancy and registration with ICAN or ANAN are required with minimum of three years cognate experience,
  • In addition candidate is expected to have a good knowledge of accounting principles and practices, finance principles, knowledge of financial reporting and technical accounting skills,
  • Previous experience of general accounting and proficiency in relevant accounting software will be an advantage.
 
POST TITLE: PROCUREMENT/CONTRACT SPECIALIST
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • He/She will develop policies and strategies related to procuring supplies and services in accordance with ICDC budget guidelines and other procurement policy of Government of Nigeria,
  • Develop contracting arrangements with selected vendors which meet the CDC project criteria and standards,
  • Collate specifications required for various supplies and make them available to suppliers,
  • Ensure that all procurement in the project is carried out in a timely and efficient manner and in compliance with CDC guidelines.
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
  • University Degree or HND in Business Administration, Accountancy, Social Sciences or related fields with five years cognate experience in similar positions. 
 
POST TITLE:   ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
  • The Administrative Officer is to coordinate activities in the administrative department of the project,
  • He/She will receive mails and general correspondence on behalf of the Project,
  • Keep adequate staff records and staff movements, schedule and make all arrangements for meetings including venues and handle other general administrative functions.
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
  • Candidates should have B.Sc/B.A in Economics, Business Administration, Humanities or in any other Social Sciences,
  • Minimum of three years post NYSC experience in related department.
