POSITION DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE OF JOB:
  • To oversee all the major risk types in the Group and ensure the entrenchment of enterprise-wide risk management philosophy in the day-to- day activities of the Group. This will involve the implementation of risk management frameworks, standards, underlying policies and procedures in the Bank and all its subsidiaries,
  • To effectively identify, monitor, control and report all compliance, operational, market and credit risk exposures and other related risks of the Group; to ensure that effective controls are in place to mitigate and prevent the occurrence of identified risk incidents;
  • To guide senior management in fulfilling their risk management responsibilities and bring a risk-focused view to strategic planning, budgeting and other activities of the Group.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review risk exposures of the Group on a regular basis;
  • Review daily positions and profit & loss of Global Markets;
  • Review daily breaches of trading limits, guidelines and mandates;
  • Review and report all risk exposures on a specified basis to EXCO, Board and SBAF;
  • Provide functional oversight to Market Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance and Legal risk; and administrative oversight to Financial Crimes Control;
  • Coordinate reporting of MI for all functions and align to SBAF templates;
  • Provide prudential relationship and serve as the Group’s central representative and contact person with all the key regulators including the CBN, NDIC, SEC, NSE, etc;
  • Provide representation for Risk on the Board Risk Management Committee and Audit Committee;
  • Provide organizational liaison and central point for Risk to SBAF;
  • Management responsibilities;
  • Propose new and improved risk management standards and policies on an on-going basis;
  • Assess organizational capacity, competency, efficiencies etc on a regular basis and make recommendation to EXCO and Board;
  • Align the Bank’s Risk Appetite Framework to SBAF’s and keep custody of documents and process;
  • Maintain ownership of in-country ICAAP;
  • Assess Bank’s risk levels and business processes and ensure that they are consistent with the Bank’s risk appetite, internal risk policies, SBAF risk guidelines and regulatory requirements;
  • Identify emerging risks, concentrations, potential threats etc and make recommendations;
  • Develop stress test scenarios, analyze impacts and make recommendations;
  • Act as the Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer providing overall assurance to regulators on Bank’s compliance with all rules and regulations as well as corporate governance.

KEY  ROLES RESPONSIBILITIES:

PAYMENTS:
 
1. Handles and makes decisions regarding daily operational activities relating to International Payment transactions in compliance with operational procedures and regulatory controls,

3. Process all foreign currency clearing transactions in compliance with operational procedures and regulatory controls,
 
4. Manage and maintain relationship with the CBN and other regulatory bodies,
 
5. Conduct call-back confirmation for all foreign currency transactions processed in accordance with agreed country threshold limits and subject to delegated authority limit,
 
6. Ensure even flow of international outward payments to the hub and that all relevant details have been accurately captured on DOTOPAL,
 
7. Ensure all transactions are properly indexed and scanned to the HUB through FILENET,
 
8. Establish performance goals for the international payments team and ensure tracking against performance for continuous improvement,
 
9. Co-ordinate with both local and group systems support on all projects and initiatives related to international payments systems and processes to ensure customer and business interests are properly represented,
 
10. Motivate and encourage team to ensure improved productivity within the department.
 
11. Undertake all relevant Key Control and process risk assessment reviews.

SERVICE:
 
1. Communicate with branches to ensure speedy forwarding of OTT documents to meet the standard processing deadlines,
 
2. Provide appropriate support in interpretation and tactical implementation of all relevant policies, product programs and guidelines initiated by wholesale bank,
 
3. Track and monitor HUB performance against SLA,
 
4. Ensure all queries logged in relation to foreign currency transactions are prompted fixed from root cause.

DAILY REVIEW AND INVESTIGATION (NOSTRO / SUSPENSE ACCOUNTS
  •   Daily review of outstanding Items on both Nostro and suspense accounts ensure no aging of items over 5 days.
OTHERS:

1. Provides input to the development and enhancement of International payment products especially as it relates to systems and procedures,
 
2. Reviews internal systems to seek ways of improving processes to ensure smooth workflows,
 
3. Roll out initiatives for process automations to improve workflow, build scalability and reduce cost,
 
4. Assist Tech and Ops to create and maintain a compliance culture through sample testing of compliance monitoring undertaken as RP, training, periodic self assessments, generating accurate and timely reports, compliance monitoring plan, assessment of regulatory risks and ensure that controls exist to mitigate them,
 
5. Assist the compliance function by communicating effectively internal policies/guidelines and regulatory requirements, proactively alerting compliance issues, implementing departmental operating instructions to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements and coordinate in regulatory inspections.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS:

1. Degree plus 5 years banking experience in banking operations,
 
2. Good knowledge of CBN foreign currency regulations and controls,

Oando Marketing is currently seeking a Technical Procurement Officer (Contract Role) is responsible for supports transaction planning and processing efforts to ensure all technical procurement activities are delivered in the most cost effective manner without compromising on quality and EHSQ standards, while meeting customer expectations for efficient and effective service delivery

8. Organizes technical evaluation of bids and ensures Purchase Orders comply with appropriate specifications, conditions and clauses.
 
9. Issues Purchase Orders for approval in line with process guidelines and specified approval limits.
Work closely with suppliers and customers to improve operations and reduce costs
 
10. Create integrated processes among Operations, Procurement, Logistics and outside suppliers to execute the planning/replenishment process
 
11. Carries out vendors’ performance appraisal with support.
 
12. Maintains adequate vendor documentation and/or specification on sources of supply, costs, delivery, vendor performance ratings, and quality requirements
