The tenure of the Medical Director/Chief Executive will elapse very soon, consequently, the Management Board of the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia hereby invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below

JOB TITLE: Medical Director/ Chief Executive

REQUIREMENTS:

1. The candidates aspiring for the post of Medical Director/CE must fulfill the following criteria.
Shall be medically qualified and registered as such for a period of years), 

2. He /She should have considerable administrative experience in matters of health care and should hold a post-graduate medical qualification duly registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for practicing as a Consultant and obtained not less than five years prior to the appointment as Medical Director
In addition, the candidate should have displayed exceptional leadership qualities in clinical duties, research and training. Positions held in the past/present such as Head of Department of Head of Clinical Services & Training etc will be an added advantage,
 
3. Prospective Candidates should have experience in hospital administration and knowledge of the working of the local hospital system. Former training in hospital administration would be an added advantage,
 
4. Possession of basic computer skills will be an added advantage,
 
5. Must have evidence of good track record of employment from the point of engagement to the point of application.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Medical Director will be charged with the responsibility for the execution of the policies and matters affecting the day to day Management of the affairs of the hospital based on public service rules. Achievement of the goals, mission and vision of the hospital is also his responsibility.

The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Medical Director in Nigeria Tertiary Health.
