We are World Class Manufacturing Company with a modern automated Fabrication and Galvanising Steel Plant in Nigeria. We currently require the services of experienced and articulate candidates to fill the positions below:


REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCY:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical and Material Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline

2. Minimum of ten to twelve (10-12) years relevant industry experience, especially in the manufacturing industry at least five (5) of which must have in a managerial capacity

3. Relevant professional qualification or certification (e.g. Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria /Nigerian Society of Engineers).

4. Appreciable knowledge of the Nigerian economic and business environment.

5. In-depth understanding of the global and local steel industry, including key stakeholders, trends growth drivers, leading practices and critical success factors for operations within the steel industry.

6. Good knowledge and understanding of relevant guiding steel rolling and fabrication and related services to steel companies

7. Ability to think strategically and approach issues from a holistic perspective

8. Understanding of leading practices and trends in risk management

9. Good business acumen i.e. financial and commercial knowledge

10. Strong people management and leadership skills

11. Very good analytical and problem solving skills

12. Understanding of strategic planning and performance measurement tools and techniques

13. Good communication and interpersonal skills

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversee and drive the development of the operational strategies and work programmes of the Fabrication, Galvanization, Steel Rolling and Operations Support functions,
 
2. Develop and oversee budgets, plans and programs to ensure optimum utilization of available equipment, space, facility and human resources necessary to attain operational objectives,
 
3. Formulate, develop and implement policies and action plans to attain production targets of the company,
 
4. Critically monitor production results and proffer recommendations on identified issues affecting quality and profitability,
 
5. Keep abreast of local and global best practices in Production (Fabrication, Galvanization and Steel Rolling) and supply chain management and make recommendations to Management,
 
6. Identify and ensure implementation of process improvement/ redesign and systems upgrade/ implementation efforts and ensure the adequacy and sufficiency of controls to be integrated into the production system /processes,
 
7. Ensure the establishment and implementation of best practice supply chain management policies and practices,
 
8. Authorize key expenditure/ transactions in line with approved authority limits,
 
9. Review periodic financial and non-financial reports to effectively monitor the activities of the company,
 
10. Define and agree targets as well as monitor and evaluate the performance of departmental heads on a regular basis,
 
11. Monitor production standards and implement quality control programmes,
 
12. Ensure HSE guidelines are followed,
 
13. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Managing Director.



REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCY:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field,
 
2. Four to Six (4 – 6) years experience in engineering, preferably in the Steel industry,
 
3. Good Knowledge of regulatory standards and codes for relevant sectors (telecom, power, oil and gas, construction etc),
 
4. Awareness of general engineering and production safety requirements,
 
5. Ability to generate blueprint drawings related to production layouts and plans,
 
6. Advanced knowledge of Auto CAD,
 
7. Well developed communication and presentation skills,
 
8. Good problem solving skills,
 
9. High attention to detail and quality,
 
10. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinate incoming raw materials e.g. Angle Iron, Stainless materials for rest platform using in communication Tower,
 
2. Monitoring the quality of products and in- process inspection of operation to ensure conformity with international and local standards,
 
3. Carry out inspection of fabrication designs, operations and finished products,
 
4. Coordinate qualify audit on products that fail under service condition and handling customers’ non-conformance report,
 
5. Monitoring of process and operation parameters of CNC machines to make sure that the set standard are followed and find out when the process, raw material or the machines is the cause of deviation from the set standard,
 
6. Determine the quality of weldments of assembled parts and fabricated products,
 
7. Carry out report writing, interpretation of results and documentation of records,
 
8. Ensure that the production department is supplied with the right material,
 
9. Organized in house tracing for quality control personal,

10. Interpret Engineering drawing to quality control personnel.
