POST TITLE: Operations Manager
JOB LOCATION: Port Harcourt
Our services include providing Offshore Hydrographic surveys, AUV Surveys, ROV Inspection
and Intervention, Geotechnical and Geophysical Survey Services to the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.

The expected job responsibilities/functions for the Operations Manager shall include but not limited to:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ FUNCTIONS:
- Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a senior management position within company,
- The Operation Manager will head the operations department with overall responsibility efficient project implementation and reporting,
- The job holder would be in charge of the overall planning,, execution and wrap-up of assigned projects within an agreed timeframe and budget,
- He would also oversee the mobilization of equipment, manpower and other resources towards achieving set deliverable and targets.
The key tasks shall include but not limited to the following:
- Plan, organize, and manage through direct reports all operations activities relating to receiving, storing, order, filing, processing., loading, shipping, and offshore deployment and activities through the most efficient and cost effective processes,
- Review service level and operational condition of all equipment/work tools to ensure that uninterrupted and efficient service is attained,
- Maintain client technical interface during project execution and reporting,
- Responsible for the management of a dedicated offshore survey team,
- Oversee Workshop Supervisor activities maintaining a functional equipment workshop that achieves functional goals and objectives,
- 0Make technical inputs into tender/bid preparation and proposals made by the Business
- Development team,
- Actively participate in company strategy sessions and planning,
- Recommend staffing levels, and upon approval, hire employees required to meet operating objectives and service level requirements,
- Carry out on the job training of team members and recommend external training for technical staff as may be required,
- Weekly reporting to the Managing Director on all operational activities, both on-shore and off -shore,
- Ensure compliance with the corporate safety program which is consistent with established HSE and Quality standards,
- Review performance of subordinates regularly and conduct formal evaluations when scheduled. Recommend appropriate changes in status.
To properly perform these functions we expect the candidate to posses the following qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A university degree in Geology, Geophysics or Surveying with relevant professional experience and certification(s),
- The candidate must have had at least 15 years experience working in offshore survey in the capacity of a surveyor or geophysicist and at least 3 years in a managerial position,
- A good knowledge of the local Nigeria survey and oil and gas industry.

- Very strong oral and written communication skills,
- Practical approach to problem solving ability,
- Ability to plan, delegate and motivate team members in the realization of objectives,
- Ability to work under very tight schedules to meet important deadlines,
- Results oriented with a participative management style that encourages team working and the exchange of ideas / Strong computer literacy skills.
