THE ORGANIZATION:
FITC was established in 1981 as a non profit organisation limited by guarantee, based on the Company’s Act of 1968, in response to the recommendations of the Pius Okigbo Committee set-up by the Federal Government of Nigeria to review the Nigerian financial system. It is owned by the Banker's Committee, which comprises of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, all licensed banks and discount houses in Nigeria.
POST TITLE: Assistant Director, Human Resources
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate must possess University degree in any of the Social Sciences or Humanities, preferably in Public/Business Administration with specialization in Human Resource Management, in addition to a good first degree which is not lower than second class lower division in a relevant discipline,
- A post-graduate degree will be an added advantage,
- Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience,
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous management experience in human capital development,
- Have proficiency in the use of Microsoft office application,
- Professional Membership of CIPMN or other related professional associations is a must.
- Candidate must be able to provide a pragmatic support system for managing the careers of technical/professional and clerical staff within the organisation,
- Develop and implement relevant HR policies and procedures, interprets and administers HR –related provisions of collective bargaining agreement,
- He/She must be demonstrate knowledge and competencies to drive the HR function and value chain in collaboration with other team members.
- The candidate must develop a culture of participation and involvement, including maintaining confidence in the face of unpopular situations,
- People who are best suited for this job must be result oriented and skilled in conflict resolution,
- The ideal person for this position will be self-confident, friendly, self-starting, imaginative, factual, consistent, self-disciplined and active,
- An added advantage is positive attitude and social disposition, while a multi-tasking ability is highly required.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree or equivalent qualification in finance or the social sciences,
- A post-graduate degree will be an added advantage,
- Candidates must also possess relevant professional qualification with recognised local and/or international professional bodies,
- Minimum of 20 years relevant post graduate experience of which at least five years should be at a senior level in the financial services business, and/or working experience with a financial organisation,
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills (both written and oral) and highly developed team leadership and mentoring skills,
- Experience as a thought-leader as demonstrated through associations, committees, etc.,
- Relevant industry experience is a must, along with knowledge of outstanding global and local practices.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the inspection of operators with respect to compliance requirements,
- The post holder will be accountable for contributing to the development and implementation of inspection guidelines in line with international standards,
- This role involves establishing strong relationships with the most senior levels of management within the organisation, the sector’s operators and other regulators as well as working directly with the Chief Executive Officer.
- The ideal candidate must be systematic and factual, and adopt a logical and intelligent approach in dealing with issues,
- He/She must be diplomatic while maintaining a high standard of compliance,
- He/She must be able to establish, adhere to and enforce regulations and procedures.
POST TITLE: Assistant Director, Legal
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate must possess LLB and BL,
- An LLM or MBA will be an added advantage,
- Candidate must have fifteen (15) years working experience, five of which should be in senior management position in a reputable organisation.
- The successful candidate must have expertise in legislation and judicial systems,
- He/She will manage inquiries & disciplinary procedures,
- He/She will manage & coordinate external Legal Service provision,
- Candidates should also have relevant experience working with the board of an organisation (e.g. as a Company Secretary),
- The successful candidate will also manage relationships with Stakeholders.
- The ideal candidate must subscribe to strict standards of quality and accuracy,
- He/She must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of dealing with colleagues with diplomacy while ensuring rules and regulations are strictly adhered to,
- The ideal person should possess functional interpersonal networks across a range of industries.
