THE COMPANY:

Our Company is a multinational marine transportation company involved in the offshore oil and gas business located in Port-Harcourt. We seek to recruit candidates to fill the  positions below:


LOCATION: Port Harcourt

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities for this position shall include working offshore as a captain or pilot of vessel/surfer


CANDIDATE PROFILE:

The ideal candidate should be male between 22-45 years

1. Possess the required Basic and Advance mandatorys

2. Possess Marine Deck Officer Certificate of Competency (preferably OOW) 3000kw

3. ossess a valid international passport

4. Possess a valid discharge book showing a minimum of 18 months seatime experience in the marine industry

5. Possess a valid yellow card

6. Possess a valid medical certificate

7. Must be registered as a seafarer with NIMASA

8. Possession of relevant additional qualification will be an added advantage


CHARACTER PROFILE:

1. High Technical skills,

2. Creative and Innovative,

3. Team oriented and outgoing,

4. Ability to work with little or no supervision.

POST TITLE: Referent Captains

LOCATION: Port Harcourt

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities for this position shall include but not  be limited to:

1. EVALUATION:

1. Evaluation will take place mainly offshore, preferably during operation on the field

2. Assesses pilots and Able seamen based on approved Assessment Forms

3. Assesses trainees (newly recruited pilots) and validates end of training period

4. Assesses general status of the vessel (housekeeping, documentation etc)

5. Makes recommendations for crew affection in a category, for training and promotion

6. Makes recommendations to QHSE department to feed into training and B.Safe meetings

7. Updates accordingly the  Assessment registrar

8. Makes appropriate planning to assess all crews needs to be covered

9. Assess regularly cadets


2. TRAINING:

1. Coaches pilots and able –seamen on areas designed by the  skills standard (navigation, maneuvers, operations, safety, communication behavior…)

2. Provide expertise onshore or offshore

3. Coaches all crew on safety procedures, drill etc

4. Trains crews and staff during maintenance phases: fender jobs, testing of navigation equipment, testing of safety equipments

5. Promotes good housekeeping


3. BASE SUPPORT:

1. Helps briefing and preparing crews before departure: understanding of sailing orders, transit guides, chart corrections, JSA…

2. Conducts sea trials of new vessels and after maintenance jobs,

3. Inspect boat at arrival at base, brief crews met at the base on relevant topic.


4. CLIENTS RELATIONS:

When interacts with clients offshore, on site, explains our approach on training and assessing crews, possibilities and limitations of vessels


5. TRAINING CENTRE ORGANIZATION:

1. Provides weekly report to Master training center,

2. Participates in regular training meetings,

3. Contributes to assess training performance (impact),

4. Contributes to monthly training reporting,

5. Participates in establishing, and follows up on annual training planning,

6. Assists Master training centre in developing appropriate activities.

2. Possess Marine Deck Officer Certificate of  competency (preferably OOW Unlimited) 3000kw

3. Possess a valid international passport

4. Possess a valid discharge book showing a minimum of 5-8 years seatime experience in the marine industry

5. Possess a valid yellow card

6. Possess a valid medical certificate

7. Must be registered as a seafarer with NIMASA

8. Possession of relevant additional qualification will be an added advantage
