Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Jobs: Recruitment for Head of Lagos Office


Our client is the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the apex regulator of the capital market in Nigeria. SEC’s mission is to develop and regulate a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent and efficient to contribute to the nation’s economic development. Having set some ambitious goals, the Organization is seeking highly motivated and result-oriented professionals to take up various leadership responsibilities:

JOB TITLE: Head of Lagos Office (ES00594)
 
THE CANDIDATES:  

The successful candidate will:

1. Reporting to the Director, Zonal Offices, 

2. the successful candidate will have both operational and administrative responsibilities for the Lagos office. 

Specifically, the candidate will:

1. Coordinate and oversee various functional units within the Lagos office including, operations, legal and finance/administration,

2. Update the head office on key issues affecting the market especially as observed on the trading floor,

3. Direct human resources and administrative functions and carry put appraisal of heads of division within the Lagos office

4. Represent the Director General and Executive Commissioners at official meetings within the Lagos office,

5. Ensure the safety, security and welfare of the Lagos staff.

REQUIREMENTS:
 
1. A good first degree in Economics or Business Administration from a reputable institution.
Higher degree(s) in Economics or any business related discipline, such as MBA, will be an added advantage,
 
2. Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ post-qualification experience, eight (8) of which must have been spent managing the office(s) of large public or private organisations,
 
3. Membership of relevant professional bodies is essential,
 
4. Good knowledge of the capital market,
 
5. Proven track record of conceptualizing implementing and managing capital market training programmes.
 
PERSONAL SKILLS:
 
In addition, eligible candidates for this position must possess
 
1. Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills in both formal and informal settings with key stakeholders.
 
2. Excellent leadership, planning and organization, as well as people management skills,
 
3. Excellent relationship management and strategic networking skills at the highest level in both private and public sectors,
 
4. High sense of responsibility, accountability and dependability.
 
5. Proficiency in the use of computer applications.
