Nigeria French Language Village Vacancies: Recruitment for Associate Professor/Reader (Francophone and African Literature), Associate Professor/Reader (Linguistics in French/Applied linguistics in French)
The Nigeria French Language Village is Nigeria’s inter-university Centre for French studies, established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to cater primarily for undergraduate students of French in tertiary institutions. It is an autonomous institution operating under the ambit of the National universities Commission (NUC)
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions below.
POST TITLE: Associate Professor/Reader
(Francophone and African Literature) – Connuass 06
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION:
1. Exceptional teaching ability
2. Ability to initiate and supervise research
3. Adequate experience including, where applicable, membership of relevant professional bodies
4. Outstanding research/scholarly publication (15)
5. Administrative ability and competence
6. Evidence of leadership in research and Postgraduate supervision
7. Candidate should possess at least a good B.A. degree in French/French Linguistics with a minimum of 2nd class (Lower)
8. A Master’s degree in Francophone literature, Linguistics/Applied linguistics
9. A Ph.D in African literature, linguistics/Applied linguistics in French
10. Must have not less than nine (9) years cognate experience in the University or a similar educational environment
11. Must have experience of ample publications in recognized journals and ability to lead research.

BASIC COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

9. Good knowledge of ICT software eg Microsoft office package,
10. Proven professional competence and enviable administrative pedigree
11. The candidate must be diligent forthright but diplomatic,
12. Ability4 to initiate proactive policies geared at propelling the French Village forward.
