Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions below at Kogi State College of Education

POST TITLE:   Librarian

THE ROLE/DUTIES:

The College librarian is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the Library service of the institution.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• The applicant must possess a good Honours degree in Library Science (BLS) from a recognized institution of higher learning and a Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from a recognized institution of higher learning, plus at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience. A Ph.D in Library Science from a recognized institution of higher learning will be an added advantage.
• An applicant for the post of Librarian must currently be holding a post not lower than Deputy Librarian in his/her present employment.

IN ADDITION TO THE FOREGOING REQUIREMENTS:

i. The applicant must be computer literate and must be a member of the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN),
ii. The candidate must not be more than 55 years old,
iii. The applicant must forward all his/her publications with the application.

CONDITIONS & TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:

• The College Librarian is a Principal Officer of the institution. The successful applicant shall be placed on CONPCASS 15. 
• He/she shall hold office for an initial term of five (5) years renewable for another term of five (5) years, which shall be the final term, subject to satisfactory performance. 
• Other relevant benefits and allowances are as spelt out in the College Conditions of Service as approved by the Governing Council and Kogi State Government.

POST TITLE:   Director of Works

THE ROLE/DUTIES:

• The Director of Works and services takes charge of the overall co-ordination of the Works Department. He advises, vets and recommends costs for proposed projects.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Candidate must possess a good honours Degree in any of the following disciplines: Engineering (Structural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical); OR Architecture,
• The candidate must be fully registered with the relevant professional body with 15 years Post-qualification experience.

CONDITIONS & TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:

• The Director of Works is not a Principal Officer of the College, However, the successful applicant shall be placed on CONTEDISS 15,
• All other conditions are as provided in the conditions of service.
