Due to reorganization, our client is seeking to bring on board a sound Head of Finance and HR Manager to help manage and direct the affairs of the Finance Department and Human Resources and Admin Department:

POST TITLE:  Head of Finance

JOB DESCRIPTION: Core Performance Areas

JOB PURPOSE:
  • Managing the day -to-day operation of the finance & accounts department and its associated functions,
  • To support the Managing Director and assist in the business processes to ensure the smooth operation of the finance & accounts department,
  • Prepare and interpret Financial reports for the Board,
  • To liaise closely with other colleagues and Managers including external stakeholders.
CORE PERFORMANCE ARE AS:

1. Strategic:
  • Provide leadership and oversee all accounting and finance functions and ensure the integrity of accounting and financial information,
  • Ensure that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place to guide the Company’s financial decision-making and development particularly in relation to reserves, expense and income streams.
2. Financial:
  • Costing and cost management – review, ensure or put in place a system of efficient costing and oversee general cost management for the growth and profitability of the Company,
  • Periodic financial reporting including profit & loss, balance sheet, branch and product/service accounting reports,
  • Budgeting and budgetary control drive the budgetary process and financial performance,
  • Management including review and analysis of periodic management accounts vis-a-vis, budgets,
  • Treasury management – ensure efficient management of financial resources including cash and working capital in general: review and ensure efficient funding of the Company’s operations at all times; advise the Managing Director of appropriate capital structure to maintain and on other finance decisions,
  • Internal control – review or put in place a system of strong internal control to safeguard Company’s assets,
  • Liaise with external auditors for year-end audit exercise and manage the audit process.
3. Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with ail lax regulations and remittances including PAYE, WHT VAT and income tax; 
  • liaise with tax consultants if any, and external auditors in these connections,
  • Advise the Leadership Team on major financial issues as they arise.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • The ideal candidate should have minimum of 8 – 10 years experience preferably in a retail/FMCG business with minimum of 3 years as head of finance/accounts,
  • Minimum of a good first degree in business or related discipline plus professional accounting qualification: an MB A will be an added advantage,
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory and decision making/problem solving skills essential,
  • The candidate must be a team player with very good communication skills and willing to work to specific deadlines,
  • Minimum qualifications B.Sc/HND and AC A-ACCA; an MBA would be an added advantage,
  • Computer proficiency is essential and prior use-implementation of relevant ERP would he an advantage.
KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Candidates should be matured within the ages of 35 and 45 years old.

POST TITLE:   HR Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: Core Performance Areas

The HR Manager is expected to be responsible for designing, directing, and managing the company’s HR function reporting to the Managing Director. This includes developing and delivering detailed HR plans, policies, processes and procedures. In particulars/he will carry out the following tasks:

1. Design and drive the implementation of HR Strategies, policies, process & system,
2. Recruitment: ensure adequate human resource – of right person for the right job – is recruited,
3. Induction: Induction of new staff into the system by introducing them to the Company-Head,
4. Division/Unit Heads of all companies and act as a help desk to make the new state comfortable in all aspects until they settle down, Training and development: appropriate training for staff development as per training policy, to meet needs of the companies for quality functioning retention of staff, as a staff retention strategy,
5. Probation: Monitor probationary period of staff, continuation on completion of probation, increment, if any, on probation,
6. Performance Management: monitor the performance of staff members and annual review of salary increases as annual increments,
7. Staff Records Maintenance: Maintain individual staff files,
8. Staff Separations: Process staff resignations, terminations as per terms of the employment,
9. Preparing documents for payroll inputs, new engagements, separation, etc.
10. Perform any other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree/HND with Specialization in HR (or related fields),
  • Six (6) years relevant work experience minimum 2 years in Managerial capacity Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, Excel & Power point),
  • Developing People: Ability to facilitates the development of others through personal involvement in coaching & mentoring of subordinates.
