Having set some ambitious goals, the Organization is seeking highly motivated and result-oriented professionals to take up various leadership responsibilities:
JOB TITLE: Chief Economist (ES00576)
THE CANDIDATES:
The successful candidate will:
1. Reporting to the Director General,
2. the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for conducting empirical research, building databanks, generating economic intelligence for top management and disseminating information to various stakeholders, as well as coordinating storage and retrieval of literature.
3. He/she will also be responsible for providing intellectual thought leadership relating to all aspects of economic research within the Organization.
Specifically, the candidate will:
1. Develop models and template to capture the integrated economy of the Country,
2. Provide public presence for the Organization in economic forum, commentaries, media calls and other related public activities,
3. Validate the relevance and technical quality of economic research in the Organization,
4. Coordinate annual conferences and conference volume/book, working papers, investment journal, etc,
5. Oversee publication of annual and monthly statistical bulletins and management metrics,
6. Coordinate acquisition of new materials and ensure high speed of retrieval of materials,
REQUIREMENTS:
1. A good first degree in Economics or any business-related discipline from a reputable institution,

2. An MBA or any higher degree in Economics or Business Management will be an added advantage,
3. Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ post-qualification experience with at least five (5) years in the financial services industry,
4. Strong technical skills in economic research, in relation to quantitative, statistical analysis and economic development principles,
5. Proven track record of conceptualizing, implementing and managing policy-oriented research,
6. Experience of macroeconomic model-building and publication record,
PERSONAL SKILLS:
In addition, eligible candidates for this position must possess

1. Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills in both formal and informal settings with key stakeholders,
2. Excellent leadership, planning and organization, as well as people management skills,
3. Excellent relationship management and strategic networking skills at the highest level in both private and public sectors,
4. High sense of responsibility, accountability and dependability,
5. Proficiency in the use of computer applications.
