For our Finance functional area in Nigeria, we are looking for a Treasury Operation and Finance Officer

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?
  • Provide functional support for Finance and Treasury processes,
  • Implement globally defined treasury processes at the local level,
  • General treasury reporting in accordance with global guidelines and relevant finance technology platform,
  • Provide support for Business Unit Net Foreign Currency Positions on a monthly basis
  • Provide administrative support for processing letter of credit (import and export), bonds and guarantees,
  • Provide process support for Form M and Form A requests in line with company and local banking regulations,
  • Manage local policies and premiums including project insurance,
  • Develop and maintain insurances log and ensure validity at all times,
  • Ensure optimum management of Insurance claims,
  • Monitor the adequacy of funding pension plan and conformity of process in accordance with local regulations,
  • Monthly and annual process accounting and reporting,
  • Report, track and implement Treasury, pensions and insurance audit findings.
WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS JOB?
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience comprising of Treasury operations, Finance and Insurance,
  • Minimum of second class lower division in Finance Accounting or any numerate discipline from an accredited and reputable University,
  • A Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA or ACCA),
  • Good understanding of finance, banking operations, and regulatory framework of local banking environment,
  • Business result orientation, Intercultural sensitivity, and Value orientation skills,
  • Good computer skill, Microsoft office and other applications.

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?
  • Control Project Accounts, including Cost Control, ROE, Billing and Account Receivables
  • Adherence to Siemens Cost to cost method of Percentage completion accounting and SOA internal controls,
  • Provide monthly forecasting with regard to PoC Sales and Gross Profit,
  • Prepare Project Review meeting documentation in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Support the process of Collection of cash from customers and follow up on all invoices to ensure prompt payment,
  • Provide Contractual Support to the Business Unit,
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager.
WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS JOB?
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in accounting finance,
  • Exposure to business administration will be an added advantage,

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• To ensure periodic review is carried out on all accounts in line with the DOI,
• To ensure all accounts in the trigger review report is reviewed in line with the DOI,
• Ensure adequate CDD and AML measures are deployed in line with the Group.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• To ensure workflow is reviewed periodically to improve efficiency and control.
• To provide guidance to operational staff in the form of up-to-date procedures/user guides.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

ACCOUNT PERIODIC REVIEW AND CDD QA:

• To Receive the monthly emlps report on accounts for trigger review,
• To Pick up EOM report on accounts due for Periodic Review,
• To ensure evidence of review is maintained in customer’s file,
• To ensure that findings from periodic review is captured on the MDTS and updated when regularized by the branch.

MANDATORY DAILY VOLUMES:

• To maintain their daily statistics and volume and Metrics Database for the unit.
OFAC SDN UPDATE,
• Review updated list of sanction entities and cross check whether SCBN has any account or holds funds in the name on the list.

DEFFERALS
• To ensure the list of accounts with deferral is maintained and treated in line with CDD guidelines,
• To handle communication to branches were deferral in place is expired and ensure missing documents(s) is provided immediately or account is closed,
• To supervise and ensure that document is filed appropriately upon submission and status updated in the deferral database,
• Where a deferral is expired, to ensure communication is forwarded to concerned branch and flagged for closure. The account must also reflect in the KYC deficiency report until regularized or closed.

REPORTS:

Provide periodically for MIS reports on Accounts Services functions for review by the various businesses.

DAILY REPORTS:
  • Outstanding CDD defficient accounts.
WEEKLY:
  • Document deficiency report,
  • Accounts with Expired defferals,
MONTHLY:
  • Deferrals: Number of accounts with outstanding and expired deferrals,
  • KCSA checks for Account Services,
  • KPI and capacity Utilization for Account services.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • University Degree in relevant field.
  • A knowledge of banking practices with relevant working experience in account opening unit.
  • A good working knowledge of risk management.
  • Must be customer-oriented, as a primary responsibility is to ensure that the unit provides a high standard of customer service.
  • Good inter-personal and management skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage the operation of computer systems.
  • Microsoft skills – Spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Good organization skills.

Provide a monthly report to the HR TM&D Manager regarding the regional bench
Support the HR Service Centre with the relevant Employment documentation for appointments,
Coordinate company HR training events regionally such as; Shaping Talent, Leaders to Change Workshops, Disciplinary Training,
Monthly attendance at the Regional Team Meetings to support, advise and guide line on HR Practices and Processes.

KEY OUTPUTS:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
•Appropriate 3 year B-degree
•Sound knowledge and 2 -3 years experience of Human Resources Practices and procedures
•Basic business knowledge and an understanding of the impact of HR on other business functions would be advantageous
•Knowledge and experience of working with typical Marketing Functions would be advantageous
•Sound knowledge of appropriate labour legislation, eg. Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, etc.
